Service Description
This 1 day course is for individuals interested in becoming an American Heart Association Instructor. Training is offered through a blended format, consisting of an online self-paced program completed independently followed by a hands-on classroom session. A BLS instructor candidate must have a current American Heart BLS provider card. A Heartsaver instructor candidate must have a current Heartsaver Total First Aid CPR AED card with pediatric modules. The instructor candidate cannot teach until this monitoring class. Once the instructor card has been issued after successful course requirements and monitoring, the instructor may teach independently. Participants will learn how to effectively teach CPR and First Aid courses, manage class logistics, and assess students. Please inquire for more details and prerequisites.

The registration fee is nonrefundable; however, it may be transferred to another course date, one time only. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association, and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the Association.
